This is the team formerly known as Team Assassin. We're still out to kill the cancer, but we're doing it with H.O.P.E.

Cheer Stations: You've got spirit, yes you do
We're a little over a week away from the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Chicago. Without all of your love and support, next weekend would not be possible. There's one more way that you can show your love for H.O.P.E.: If you're in or around Chicago, H.O.P.E is manning (and womanning) cheering stations on June 4 and 5. In true H.O.P.E. style, we're going to rock out some themed cheer stations: Saturday, June 4, we are cheering on the team, Mardis Gras style, handing out masks & beads to walkers as we cheer them on. Sunday, June 5, we are applauding them as Superheros with posters and balloons. We'd love to see you there with your favorite cape!! Information for cheering stations is below.

If you haven't heard yet, this month is the 5k Fun Run & 1 Mile Family Walk. Our friends at Fleet Feet Chicago - Piper's Alley have graciously offered to host the event. It's a great central location and the course is wonderful.
Yesterday they sent out their newsletter to their database and who made it in there? Why H.O.P.E. of course! Take a look here. (Scroll all the way down.)
Again, we really appreciate their support and hope to see you out there! Register today!

Ticketed Auction, Another Reason to Come to Masquerade Party
If you've learned anything from H.O.P.E. this week, it's that staying positive and excited about the future is something that keeps us going. We're over-the-moon about our next event, Masquerade Party.
Check out our post about the event and make sure to RSVP and get your tickets to this very special night: http://hopemasquerade.eventbrite.com/
One feature of the night that we're particularly counting down the days about is the ticketed auction. You'll be able to put your ticketed bid in for everything from dresses, to spa services, to a brand new Weber Grill. Check out our full catalogue of auction items below.
Need a date? We have a few members of H.O.P.E that fancy themselves matchmakers. Let us know in the comments.
Masquerade Party
H.O.P.E.'s largest event of the year, Prom as it was known last year and Masquerade this year, is creeping around the corner. This event was inspired by a little zaiteran flavor, some po' boys and the powdered sugar from a begneit, mostly because we've got a soft spot for the bayou. Whatever the inspiration, we're beyond excited to ring in the warmer months by dusting off our best party dresses and coveringup half of our faces for a night mystery and magic - oh yeah, and fantastic prizes in our ticketed auction.

Books for Breast Cancer
By reading this blog and our timeline of events, it may come as a shock to you that H.O.P.E. enjoys ourselves a little reading time.
Our program Books For Breast Cancer helps us do two things we love: 1. find our next great book to read and 2. raise money for Breast Cancer. The Book Cellar in Lincoln Square has graciously given H.O.P.E. a selection of books from which H.O.P.E. will make $1 from each sale.
H.O.P.E. designed a bookmark, the image at the top of this post, as a thank you and a reminder of the deed you're doing for this disease that has touched so many.
The promotion will run through April 30. If you're walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, consider this a training walk to take a trip to 4736 N Lincoln Avenue. If you're not walking, find a map here: http://bit.ly/hqy3ni

The Long Quiche Goodbye by Avery Aames

Burritos, Blackhawks and B-cups
There's been a minor change in plans for H.O.P.E.'s event this Sunday, April 10. The Blackhawks game is at 11 am, not 2 pm as we originally noted. The game was either rescheduled or we just didn't pay attention. Either way, we're sorry for any confusion and we love you.
It's also come to our attention that Chicago's famed Shamrock Shuffle ends around 11 am. What better thing to do with the sweat or thirst you've just worked up than to bring it to District? If you don't like hockey and you don't plan on running, we recommend that you declare a Sunday Funday.
The details are as follows:
What: With the help of The District in Chicago and Qdoba, we're hosting a Blackhawks vs. Redwings viewing party. Qdoba was kind enough to host the food and the District rocked our socks off by giving us the space and the $6 absolut drinks, $4 Jameson, $4 miller/bud light drafts
When: 11 am on April 10
Where: District-170 West Ontario Street
Why: To protect the tatas!
How much: Donations of $15 suggested, but give as much as you'd like! Can't make it? We'll miss you, but you can donate here http://bit.ly/giKJHI
RSVP: http://on.fb.me/hXlf9A
BlackHawks vs. Redwings watch party
We know that some of H.O.P.E.'s biggest fans are the men in our circles of friends, so we're doing a little something for them. With the help of The District in Chicago and Qdoba, we're hosting a Blackhawks vs. Redwings viewing party. Qdoba was kind enough to host the food and the District rocked our socks off by giving us the space.
When: 2:30pm on April 10
Where: District 170 West Ontario Street
Why: To protect the tatas!
How much: Donations of $15 suggested, but give as much as you'd like!
